As I suspected Week 4 didn’t go so well. I went 6-7. I should have gone 7-6 but for whatever reason I was under the impression that Josh McCown was going to play through his injury for the Bucs causing me to pick against them, but no take-backs allowed. The season record now stands at 23-20-1. The Chargers won keeping my survivor pick hopes alive. I have now used New England, Detroit, Green Bay, and San Diego.
On to week 5…
@ Packers -9 over Vikings
Bridgewater surprised me but he may not play and in a short week where preparation is already at a minimum it will be tough for the Vikings to get ready.
Bears +2.5 over @ Panthers
The Panthers have not scored more than 20 points in a game all season. Even if they do this week it won’t be enough. The Bears lost to the Packers by 21 points last week but it was not as bad as the score looked.
Browns -1 over @ Titans
I struggled with this one. I think with a healthy Jake Locker the Titans have this game under control but because his injury status is an issue I don’t trust Tennessee in this game.
@ Eagles -7 over Rams
The Eagles are coming off their worst offensive performance under Chip Kelly but look for them to correct their mistakes at home against a Rams team that only has a chance in this game if they can create turnovers like they did against the Cowboys Week 3.
Falcons +4 over @ Giants
The Giants embarrassed the Redskins last Thursday night while the Falcons were shocked at Minnesota. The Giants will come back down to reality and the Falcons will wake up from their nightmare.
Buccaneers +10 over @ Saints
I believe in Mike Glennon. As stated earlier I picked against the Bucs last week because I though Josh McCown would play through his injury which he didn’t and I got burned. Not letting that happen again.
Texans +6 over @ Cowboys
The Texans have beaten three bad teams and lost to one mediocre one. However the Cowboys have a way of killing their momentum throughout the course of a season. They are riding a three game win streak, which means its right around the time where they lay an egg.
@ Lions +7 over Bills
The Lions have been a disappointment thus far in the season but I have no faith in the Buffalo Bills.
@ Colts +3.5 over Ravens
Andrew Luck is slowly taking the reigns over as the best quarterback in the NFL. He’s on pace for a 52 TD 5,220 yard season.
Steelers -7 over @ Jaguars
I expect the Steelers to win in a blowout after letting one slip away last week.
Cardinals +7.5 over @ Broncos
Nobody wants to believe that Arizona is actually good. They’ll find out this week that this team is for real.
Chiefs +6.5 over @ 49ers
Alex Smith’s homecoming game should be fun to watch. I expect the Chiefs to not only cover but to win.
Jets +6 over @ Chargers
Geno Smith gets to leave New York for a week, which will be good for him.
@ Patriots +1 over Bengals
Tom Brady is not dead yet!
Seattle -7.5 over @ Redskins
Always take a home dog on Monday Night, right? Not this week. People forget that 2013 Kirk Cousins looked a lot more like last week’s 4 INT quarterback than week 3’s 427 yard 3 TD quarterback.
Survivor Pick: Steelers
I find it impossible to believe that after getting a game taken out from under them last week that the Steelers won’t put on a good showing this week at Jacksonville.
