Almost two years ago, the Warriors blew a 16 point lead with four minutes to play against the Spurs in the Western Conference semi-finals.
At the time I was at a complete loss for words on how the Warriors could choke away a game like that.
In hindsight though, they were too young, lacked experience, and didn’t have the right coach leading the way.
The nucleus for greatness was there, but they were a few years away.
Fast forward two years and the Warriors are on the opposite side of it this time, coming back from a 17 point deficit with six minutes left in the game.
The similarities between the Warriors of two years ago and the present day Pelicans are endless.
Up and coming star: Steph Curry — Anthony Davis
Coach in over his head: Mark Jackson — Monty Williams
Playoff Appearance Drought: Six years — Four years
Pelicans fans shouldn’t fret. As tough as this loss seems now, these growing pains are necessary to mature and evolve.
In two years, I won’t be surprised if the Pelicans are a top three seed in the West.. but for now it’s the Steph Curry Show
