Colin Kaepernick on Trading Block

If it wasn’t already evident, Jed York and the 49ers have lost their minds. Even if these rumors turn out to be false regarding them shopping Colin Kaepernick, the damage is already done. It’s not as if the 49ers front office has a history of telling the truth.

It was almost exactly a year ago that leaks came out about a possible Jim Harbaugh to the Cleveland Browns trade. Obviously that didn’t happen, but it set the tone for the disaster that was the 49ers 2014 season and provided us with some serious foreshadowing for what was to come next.

The most disturbing part of all of this is how close they were to winning a championship. I have no doubt that if they kept the pieces together, they would have won a Super Bowl in the next 2-3 years. The Patriots lost a Super Bowl and 2 AFC championship games back-to-back-to-back before finally winning this year.

These things take time.

I remember watching this play in the 2014 NFC Championship game and thinking they won’t lose this game. The 49ers were manhandling the Seahawks, Kaepernick was running all over them and momentum was shifting their way.

After what Jed York and Trent Baalke have done to this team over the past year, this play will only serve as a reminder of what could have been.
