NFL Week 4: Start / Sit

start

quarterback

Colin Kaepernick: Eagles have given up 8 Touchdowns in the first 3 weeks of the NFL season. Kaep will be the first dual threat QB to play against the Eagles and I see a break out game on the horizon.

Fantasy Projection: 285+ yards 2 TDs and 1 rushing TD

Jay Cutler: Packers held Stafford in check last week in the Motor City. Now, Green Bay travels to Chicago to face Cutler and Co., which should be quite the shoot out. Cutler has 15+ fantasy points in his last 3 home contests versus the Pack.

Fantasy Projection: 300+ Yards and 3 TDs

runningback

Ahmad Bradshaw: Bradshaw is averaging 6 YPC and 3rd on the team with 12 catches.

Luck has historically struggled vs the Titans, which should allow for Bradshaw to take advantage of the Titans Defense allowing the 13 most fantasy points to RB’s.

Fantasy Projection: 100 rushing yards/40 yards receiving and a TD

Matt Asiata: Slow and steady wins the race. Asiata is what we like to call a plodder but even a plodder this week vs the Atlanta run defense, who is giving up the 3rd most to Running Backs this year, is a must start.

Fantasy Projection: 80 yards rushing 45 yards receiving and 1 TD

Wide Receiver

Jordan Mathews: Maclin should see double coverage vs the 49ers which will give Mathews plenty of room to work in that terrible secondary. The 49ers have surrendered over 30 fantasy points to WRs this year. 30!!!!

Fantasy Projection: 100 and a TD

Allen Robinson: Attention and attention. Coming out party for Allen Robinson has arrived. He received 10 targets from Bortles last week and with San Diego giving up a QBR of 101.1 to opposing QB’s, I like Robinson to receive plenty of targets Sunday.

Fantasy Projection: 100 yards and a TD

Tight End

Antonio Gates/Ladarius Green: Jaguars have allowed the most fantasy points to Tight Ends . Nothing more.

Fantasy Projection: 170 yards and 2 TDs combined

Greg Olsen: Ravens have held Tight Ends in check this season but Olsen is an absolute beast on the road. He has scored at least four TDs in his last 6 road games. Start him.

Fantasy Projection: 80 yards and a TD.

Defense

Indianapolis Colts: If Locker sits, this is a fit. Charlie Whitehurst is a dream matchup for defenses.

Fantasy Projection: 15 Fantasy points

San Diego Chargers: Bortles gets his first start of the season behind an offensive line that is completely inept and the Jaguars offense gives up the most fantasy points to defenses. Play them.

Fantasy Projection: 18 Fantasy Points

sit

quarterback

Cam Newton: Sixth worst fantasy match up for QBs and Ravens have held Quarterbacks in check with no more than 1 TD pass per game.

Fantasy Projection: 240 yards 1 TD.

Alex Smith: The worst fantasy match up for Quarterbacks this year, only giving up 10 fantasy points per game.

Fantasy Projection: 250 yards and no TDs

runningback

Joique Bell/Reggie Bush: Gangrene is the #1 defense against the run and only gives up 55 yards per game. Not a fan of these two.

Fantasy Projection: 75 yards combined

Darren Sproles: The hype on Sproles can’t get any greater than this. Well, now if you traded for him or your starting, I say you should do otherwise. Niners have the 6th best Run Defense in the NFL.

Fantasy Projection: 30 yards rushing, 20 yards receiving

Wide Receiver

Cordarrelle Patterson: Atlanta gives up the 14th most fantasy points to the WR position but I’m curious to see the Bridgewater-Patterson connection before I put all my marbles in that bag. This could be a Deer in the Headlights kind of game for Teddy. Sit Cordarelle.

Fantasy Projection: 60 yards

Mike Wallace: When you think of the Raiders, you think of an atrocious defense who gives up the most fantasy points to #1 Wr’s. Right? Wrong!!! They have held #1’s WRs in check this year with no touchdowns. William Wallace is a no go.

Fantasy Projection: 70 yards

Tight End

Jason Witten: He hasn’t had a WOW fantasy performance yet and that trend will continue Sunday vs the Saints who give up the 5th FEWEST fantasy points to TEs.

Fantasy Projection: 35 yards

Owen Daniels: Daniels is now the man in Baltimore with Pitta sidelined for the season. He will be seeing a ton of Luke Kuechly, who was recently rated the #1 Linebacker in football by current NFL players. I’d sit the old man.

Fantasy Projection: 40 yards

Defense

San Francisco 49ers: Giving up 23 points to the Cardinals does not suit well for them when they face the high-octane offense of the Eagles. Keep them on your bench.

Fantasy Projection: 1 point

Chicago Bears: R-E-L-A-X, RELAX”. That was Aaron Rodgers on his Green Bay Packers Radio Show. Look for a shoot out, where both defenses are not suitable for fantasy this week.

Fantasy Projection: 3 points
