NFL Week 7: Tommy’s Picks

Week 6 was my worst week of the season. I won off of a Broncos back door cover but lost on the Cardinals’ BDC. I went 6-8-1 bringing the season total to 37-34-3. The Broncos won keeping me alive in survivor. Teams used: Denver, New England, Detroit, Green Bay, San Diego and Pittsburg.

We march on to week 7…

Jets +10.5 over @ Patriots

The Jets are the only team in the NFL yet to cover this season so they are due. Last week I explained how picking the more consistent QB on Thursday Nights is a safe bet however the Jets always play the Pats tough. Last year they lost and beat them by 3 points.

Falcons +7 over @ Ravens

Flacco and the offense looked ELITE last week but don’t get too excited. The Falcons are desperate for a win and could actually pull off an upset on the road.

@ Redskins -4.5 over Titans

It’s been a miserable start to the Grudden era in DC but I fully expect them to pick up win number 2 by a healthy margin.

Seahawks -6.5 over @ Rams

Last Monday night looked promising for St. Louis but they fell flat on their faces the last 3 quarters of the game. If they couldn’t make something happen on a Monday night with the 2000 Super Bowl champs in attendance they won’t this week either.

@Jaguars +5.5 over Browns

If it looks like a trap game, it’s probably a trap game.

Bengals +3 over @ Colts

This game should be a pick’em, which leads me to take Cinci.

@ Bills -4 over Vikings

Buffalo has looked much better with Kyle Orton under center.

@ Bears -3.5 over Dolphins

After a heart breaking loss at home vs. the Packers I don’t expect much out of Miami.

Saints +2.5 over @ Lions

New Orleans is a perfect 6-0 against the spread coming off a bye since 2009.

Panthers +7 over @ Packers

This line seems way to generous which scares me but I’m a sucker so I’ll take the points.

@ Chargers -4 over Chiefs

A near loss in Oakland should wake San Diego up.

Cardinals -3.5 @ Raiders

Another game that feels like a sucker’s bet but I’ll take it anyway.

Giants +5.5 @ Cowboys

The Giants have only lost by more that one possession to the Cowboys once in their last 10 meetings.

@ Broncos -6.5 over 49ers

The Niners had one of their best games last week, while the Broncos looked mortal. Which means the exact opposite will happen this week.

Texans +3.5 @ Pittsburg

Another game that I feel should be a pick’em so I side with the underdog.

Survivor:

I will take the defending Super Bowl Champs on the road this week. Seattle is 8-1 coming off a loss since 2012. I expect to see that trend continue.
