After a season’s worst 5-10 week 7 I bounced back with a season’s best 10-5 bringing this year’s total back in the black with a 52-49-3 record. The Chiefs beat the Rams which keeps me alive in survivor (if it was double elimination.) Teams used: Denver, New England, Detroit, Green Bay, San Diego Pittsburgh, Seattle (loss #1) and Kansas City.
Time to keep the ball rolling into Week 9…
Saints -2.5 over @ Panthers
Thursday night pick the better quarterback. Brees over Newton.
Buccaneers +6.5 over @ Browns
Tampa Bay has been struggling of late but the Browns have too.
Cardinals +4 over @ Cowboys
Even at home there is no way Dallas should be favored in this game, which scares me. But I think Vegas thinks gamblers don’t believe in Arizona yet. They will after this week.
Eagles -2 over @ Texans
Nick Foles threw for 411 yards last week but it was over 62 pass attempts. The Eagles still have not picked up where they left off offensively last year and are not as good as their record but I believe the Texans are mediocre at best. Houston’s 4 wins came against RGIII, Derek Carr, EJ Manuel, and Zach Mettenberger.
@ Chiefs -10 over Jets
I normally love picking the Jets but this week its going to be too tough. Kansas City’s been on a roll the last couple of weeks while New York has had issues at quarterback, a wide receiver playing defense, and Percy Harvin to deal with.
Jaguars +11 over @ Bengals
Bortles is going through some growing pains but Jacksonville can bring this game within 11. It was encouraging to see Denard Robinson go over 100 yards rushing last week.
Chargers +2 over @ Dolphins
San Diego hasn’t won in Miami since January of 1982. The streak ends Sunday.
Redskins +2.5 over @ Vikings
Colt. McCoy. If I’m a betting man (which clearly I am) I’m going to take a chance that Gruden wants to see McCoy one more time before handing the reigns over to RGIII regardless of Griffin’s injury status.
Rams -10 over @ 49ers
This is the easiest pick of the week. Divisional game and the Rams have looked good despite their win/loss total.
Broncos -3 over @ Patriots
The Broncos offense is too good for the Patriots to keep up.
Raiders +15.5 over @ Seahawks
The biggest line of the season. I don’t see Oakland losing this game by more than 10 points.
@ Steelers even over Ravens
When it doubt pick the home team.
@ Giants +3 over Colts
A home dog on Monday night? I’ll take it.
