Sleeper Watch: Packers vs Seahawks

This game marks the two year anniversary of the Inaccurate Reception, the last second, hailmary from Russell Wilson to Golden Tate, to win the game. Now, they are set for a Thursday Night rematch with two explosive offenses which could lead to a generous amount of fantasy points. In this article, I will cover the players who you should be running to the waiver wire to pick up.

Let’s begin with the Home Team

Seattle Seahawks:

Doug Baldwin: With Golden Tate moving on to the Motor City and a fragile wide receiver in Percy Harvin, I believe Doug Baldwin could be the surprise wide receiver of the year.  In 2013, the Packers ranked 24th against the pass, and allowed 27 points per game. In regard’s to today’s game, the focal point of the Green Bay Defensive Scheme on the wide receivers should be pointed at Percy Harvin allowing Doug Baldwin to work inside and out of the numbers. Fantasy Projection: 60-80 yards and a TD.

Marshawn Lynch: With BJ Raji out with a torn biceps, Marshawn Lynch should have a field day running through the tackles vs Green Bay. I understand that Peppers was brought in to help solidify this defense’s run and pass but I see Marshawn eating skittles at the end of this one. Fantasy Projection: 100+ yards and a score.

Now for the Visitors

Green Bay Packers:

jarrett-boykin-1

Jarrett Boykin: He is the #3 Wide Receiver in an explosive offense that lacks consistent weapons other than Jordy Nelson and Eddie Lacy. Mike McCarthy, Head Coach of Green Bay was quoted saying,  “Clearly, Jarrett Boykin has taken the next step,” McCarthy said. “I just love the way he plays. He’s had an excellent camp”. I believe Green Bay will be down in this game and if Mike McCarthy’s words come to fruition, we might see a break out game from Boykin. It does help that Green Bay was 3rd in the NFL using a 3 wide receiver set (79% of there overall formations). Fantasy Projection: 80+ yards no TD

Richard Rodgers: My 2nd Overall Sleeper Tight End of the Year.  Travis Kelce is #1, go get him now. Back to Rodgers, he is in a prolific offense which the tight end in the past has had fantastic years. See Jermichael Finley ala 2011 (767 Yards 8 TDs).  Rodgers should fair well versus Seattle who will direct their attention towards Lacy, Nelson and Cobb.  This should allow for Rodgers to be the hot read check down. Fantasy Projection: 40-50 yards and a TD.
